Kenisha Pascal, left, Charnele Burton and Patricia Rogers are among 18 students from UVI who traveled to New York last week to join more than 400 students from around the country selected to participate in the Thurgood Marshall Leadership Institute and Recruitment Fair. Nine students were selected from UVI's St. Thomas campus, along with nine more selected from the St. Croix campus. The St. Thomas students are Jeffrey Berry, Charnele Burton, Cherise Burton, Necola Charles, Sandra Daniel, Xiomara Garcia, Bradley Thomas, Pascal and Rogers. The nine students from St. Croix are Daniella Henry, Trichelle Ekpe, Tenisha Nanton, Jacqueline Romer, Julian Lincoln, Aliyah Parris, Dizhan Hicks, Jmail George and Richardson Edwards.
The Leadership Institute and Recruitment Fair is a conference for students from public Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The conference brings the students together with some of the nation's top executives for leadership training, career management, life skills, development and recruitment opportunities, including the Recruitment Fair, at which students meet with more than 60 companies and government agencies offering job and internship opportunities.
