Unique local artwork fills the Tropical Creations boutique store in International Plaza where longtime St. Thomas resident Tulip Fleming shows her work alongside the work of other local and regional artists.
Fleming, a native of Antigua who spent more than 25 years working in the St. Thomas school system  before “retiring” to open her shop, said her work celebrates the culture of the Caribbean.

“I work with a lot of authentic Caribbean materials like calabash and bamboo,” Fleming said.

Tropical Creations, which has been open since November, offers a wide range of wood turning, painted bowls, orchid arrangements, vases and driftwood artwork.

She also sells purses, jewelry, broaches and hair adornments made from natural local materials.

Contact Tropical Creations at 777-2787.
