The V.I. Waste Management Authority will host a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Ursula's Multipurpose Center in Cruz Bay.
Representatives of the Waste Management Authority will give an overview of building a new wastewater pump station in Cruz Bay and seek input from residents and businesses to minimize the impact on the community. The project will include the condemnation of the existing wastewater pump station, which is located adjacent to the public restrooms in Cruz Bay. The new station will be built in the same area, and parking in the public lot will be limited during construction.
The project will start in early August and is expected to be completed within eight months. Work will include the construction of a new pump station and the installation of a sewer force main, gravity sewer lines and manholes. The project also involves the removal or abandonment of the existing sewers; excavation, grading and paving; and maintenance of existing utilities.
