Junior Firefighters to feed the homeless on St. Thomas
The V.I. Fire Service's Junior Firefighters Youth Program will distribute food to the homeless from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today on St. Thomas.
"We will be distributing food and beverages to the homeless in the neighborhoods from Bournefield to Oswald Harris Court on St. Thomas, thanks to funds raised from a Walk-a-Thon last month as organized by the Junior Firefighters," said Daryl George, Assistant Director of the Fire Service. "The Fire Service is grateful for the donations from the community and for the support of all the parents who contributed towards the success of the Walk-a-Thon, enabling this distribution of food and drinks to those individuals and families who are hungry and in need."
The Walk-a-Thon raised more than $1,000 in contributions.
