Parking at Alfredo Andrews Elementary School is being restricted because of a physical improvement and flood mitigation project in progress.

Because of ongoing construction, parents will not be allowed to enter the premises to drop off and pick up children, according to a statement issued Monday by the V.I. Education Department.

The main gate is closed until further notice, but the gate at the northwestern end (Woodson Junior High road) of the school will remain open. Students should be dropped off and be picked up near that gate.

The construction is to address longstanding adverse conditions in the parking lot, which are being corrected, St. Croix School Superintendent Gary Molloy said in the prepared statement.
