May 6 - First day nomination petitions and papers can be filed, after noon.

May 7 - Deadline for parties to submit a party emblem to appear on the ballot on electronic voting machines.

May 13 - Last day nomination petitions and papers can be filed, until 6 p.m.

May 18 - Deadline for nominated candidates to withdraw.

May 18 - Deadline for candidates with same last names to request in writing that occupation or residence be printed on the ballot.

May 18 - Deadline for candidates whose name contains more than 22 letters to submit a shortened form in writing to be listed on the ballot.

May 23 - Casting of lots for position of names on the primary ballot.

May 28 - Deadline for filing substitute nomination certificates and papers.

June 3 - First day for receipt of applications for absentee ballots for primary election.

June 17 - All federal ballots to be mailed out to military and overseas personnel.

June 24 - Certification of nominees by supervisor of Elections.

July 2 - Last day for registration.

July 2 - First day for examination of voting machines in instruction in the use of electronic voting machines.

July 2 - Last day to investigate questions relating to registration of electors.

July 2 - Last day for changes of enrollment of political party and cancellation of party enrollment.

July 2 - Last day for receipt of applications for absentee ballots for primary election.

July 19 - Deadline for persons whose registration application has been denied to petition for review.

July 19 - Deadline for qualified electors to petition to cancel the registration of registered electors for cause shown.

July 19 - Deadline for appeals to the District Court by persons whose claim for registration was denied or whose previous registration was canceled and who have exhausted all administrative remedies.

July 19 - Deadline for receipt of removal notices and transfer of registration.

July 24 - Last day for examination of voting machines and instruction in use of electronic voting machines.

July 26 - Notice of primary election.

July 31 - Testing of electronic voting machines and tabulating equipment and certification by boards.

Aug. 2 - Primary election.

Aug. 12 - Casting of lots for positions on official election ballot.

Aug. 15 - Registrars commence registration.

Aug. 29 - In case of tie in primary election, the candidate receiving the tie will cast lots at noon.

Sept. 19 - All federal ballots mailed out to military and overseas personnel.

Oct. 5 - Last day for registration (Note: This is a Sunday).

Oct. 5 - First day for examination of voting machines and instructions in use of electronic voting machines.

Oct. 5 - Last day to investigate questions relating to registration of electors.

Oct. 5 - Deadline for receipt of removal notices and transfer of registration.

Oct. 5 - Last day for change of enrollment of political party and cancellation of party enrollment.

Oct. 12 - Official public notice of General Election.

Oct. 15 - Deadline for persons whose registration application has been denied to petition for review.

Oct. 15 - Appointment of election officers.

Oct. 15 - Deadline for qualified electors to petition to cancel the registration of any registered elector for cause shown.

Oct. 24 - Deadline for receipt of applications for absentee ballots for the General Election.

Oct. 25 - Last day for examination of voting machines and instruction in use of electronic voting machines.

Oct. 25 - Deadline for appeals to the District Court by persons whose claim for registration was denied or whose previous registration was canceled and who have exhausted all administrative remedies.

Oct. 25 - Testing of electronic voting machines and tabulating equipment and certification by boards.

Nov. 4 - General Election.

Nov. 18 - Run-off election day.

Nov. 22 - Registrars commence registration.
