Armed man robs KFC branch in Frederiksted

ST. CROIX - Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant in Frederiksted on Tuesday night.
An armed, masked man walked into the Frederiksted KFC, pointed a gun at the employee and demanded she open the safe and hand over the money, according to a statement issued Wednesday by the V.I. Police department.
The employee did so, police said.
The robber also took cash from the cash register before running out of the restaurant, according to police.
According to the blotter, a record of incoming calls to 911 dispatchers, the crime was reported at 9:10 p.m. Tuesday.
