ST. THOMAS - Albert Fred looked to the far left side of the courtroom Monday when Gaius Moncherry stood up in front of him.

Defense attorneys had asked Fred whether he saw Moncherry approach Kerwin Williams in the midst of a beating that claimed Williams' life nearly two years ago. Moncherry and his brother, Curdilius Moncherry, are accused of beating Williams to death in September 2010 at Frydenhoj ballpark.
