The Caribbean Lottery and its parent company, GTECH, launched the After School Advantage Program on St. Croix, presenting The Queen Louise Home for Children with a fully equipped computer laboratory at the home's location in Frederiksted.
The new lab was outfitted with computer hardware, printers, software, furniture and construction upgrades.
Through the After School Advantage program, the Caribbean Lottery will partner with non-profit agencies to bring technological literacy and advancement to youth in the communities it serves. The program works with children ages 5 to 18 to provide an otherwise unavailable educational experience to young people.
For each After School Advantage Program center, Caribbean Lottery donates computer equipment, software and volunteer hours. More than 170 After School Advantage Centers are in operation globally.
The launch took place June 14 at the Buccaneer Hotel in Christiansted.
