Daily News' Blackburn earns national journalism honor

ST. THOMAS - Daily News reporter Joy Blackburn was named a finalist for the Scripps Howard Foundation's National Journalism Award in Community Journalism for her June 2012 investigative project "Our Money, Their Failures."
Blackburn found that some of the off-island contractors authorized by the government for the rebuilding of a stadium in Frederiksted had misrepresented their credentials and stateside connections and accrued various financial troubles over the years.
