ST. CROIX - While most 15-year-old boys likely were hanging out on the basketball court or playing video games last weekend, Lex Devlin was hard at work, directing a team of about 30 volunteers to develop a notable piece of history.

Lex, a member of Boy Scout Troop 227, was working on the final steps before he will earn his Eagle badge by creating a memorial walkway in honor of St. Croix's 17 military personnel who died on the battlefield.

The memorial project will include a concrete walkway lined with 17 mahogany trees that represent each of the veterans who were lost.
