ST. THOMAS - As election season begins in the territory, the district boards of Elections are getting some extra help.

Two new administrative assistants have been hired, one for each board.

Terrell Alexandre was hired as the St. Croix District board's administrative assistant in March.

Friday, Supervisor of Elections Caroline Fawkes announced that Rose Marie Berry has been hired for the St. Thomas-St. John District Board.

"Ms. Berry brings a wealth of knowledge, operational and administrative experience to the organization. We welcome her on our team," Fawkes said. "Since we are in an election mode, we needed someone who can hit the ground running. The Elections System and District Boards now have all vacancies filled."

Alexandre's salary is $35,000 and Berry's salary is $42,000. The difference is based on experience, Fawkes said.

Berry replaces Sharon Benjamin, who resigned from the position in December.
