ST. THOMAS - A Bolongo Bay home was shrouded in smoke Tuesday afternoon before V.I. Fire Service firefighters were able to respond.

No one was injured during the fire, which had no known cause by Tuesday evening, according to Daryl George, assistant director of the Fire Service.

Firefighters from the service's Lima Company initially responded to the fire about 1:30 p.m. Firefighters from the Hotel and Echo companies arrived shortly thereafter to provide assistance.

Upon arrival, firefighters found that heavy smoke and flames were billowing from the back of the home.

The responders were able to put out the fire within a half-hour, George said, after which they noted that the home's greatest damage was sustained in the washroom.

The Fire Service is investigating the incident.
