HOVENSA leaves price of gas unchanged

ST. CROIX - HOVENSA today left the wholesale price of gasoline unchanged.
HOVENSA typically considers adjusting its rack rates - the price of fuel purchased wholesale, directly from its truck-loading station - weekly.
A week ago, the rack rates for regular and premium went up by 5 cents per gallon, although the price of diesel fuel did not change. However, today the price for all three is holding steady.
That means that independent gas station operators in the territory still are paying $3.28 per gallon for regular gasoline, $3.73 per gallon for premium gasoline and $3.68 per gallon for diesel fuel when they buy their fuel wholesale at HOVENSA. Those prices include the 14-cents-per-gallon tax that the refinery collects for the government.
