ST. THOMAS - For the second time in as many weeks, the V.I. Attorney General's Office on Tuesday lost a murder case by failing to connect the defendant to the scene of a fatal shooting.

At the end of a two-day trial, V.I. Superior Court Judge Brenda Hollar dismissed the government's charges against Kemoy Thompson before the case went to the jury. Hollar's ruling came in the form of granting a defense motion to throw out the charges based on a lack of evidence, as allowed under the rules of criminal procedure.
