ST. THOMAS

While most kids spend their free time with friends or playing sports, some have decided to take on philanthropy.

Now in its second year, the Junior Philanthropists organization at Antilles School is gearing up for its second annual Youth 4 Youth Tennis Tournament on Saturday. Featuring more than 70 young tennis players, the event drew in a large crowd last year.

Having garnered sponsorships from businesses such as Fintrac, SPCH LLC, Scotiabank and St. Thomas Sleep Center, the Junior Philanthropists are hoping for another successful year of donations.

This year, they were fortunate enough to attract the attention of private donor Henry Wheatley, who has promised to match the Junior Philanthropists fundraising total up to $10,000.
