Luis Hospital gets more time to sharpen plan for fixing deficiences

ST. CROIX - Federal regulators have extended a deadline to give Luis Hospital officials a little more time to hone their plan to fix a multitude of deficiencies inspectors uncovered in recent surveys.
On Thursday, the day that Luis was to have submitted the plan of correction - its third version, after two previous submissions were rejected - the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, or CMS, extended the deadline for submission by two weeks to Feb. 15.
