ST. THOMAS - It is not every day you get to see judges crack jokes.
But jurists from the V.I. Superior Court's St. Thomas-St. John District, in a rare display of candor, showed a glimpse of their human sides Monday as they formally welcomed their two newest members, Kathleen Mackay and Debra Smith-Watlington.
After commending both nominees - "I cannot think of two better choices" - Judge Michael Dunston noted that the territory's judiciary has undergone "almost a complete transformation" under the tenure of Gov. John deJongh Jr.
