ST. THOMAS - The V.I. Superior Court on St. Thomas could see a new, but not unfamiliar, face behind the bench starting Dec. 1.

Gov. John deJongh Jr. announced Thursday that he has nominated Magistrate Judge Kathleen Mackay to replace Superior Court Judge Brenda Hollar, who plans to retire Nov. 30 at the conclusion of her third six-year term on the bench.

"Over a long career, Kathleen Mackay has proven herself to be a first-rate attorney, and for the past few years she has demonstrated a commendable judicial temperament as a Magistrate Judge in the Superior Court," deJongh said in a press release.
