Man charged in connection with Savan fatal shooting

ST. THOMAS - Police on Friday charged 22-year-old Lakeel Wade, arrested the day before on a second-degree rape charge, in connection with a fatal shooting earlier this month in Savan.
According to police, witnesses identified Wade as the man who shot Andre Tanis shortly before midnight on Sept. 7 in the area of Friendly Bar in Savan. Tanis was discovered lying on the ground on Gamle Gade with multiple gunshot wounds to his right side. Wade was observed running from the area.
