ST. CROIX - Gideon Hurtault was inspired in more ways than one when he attended the Man-Up conference Tuesday at the University of the Virgin Islands on St. Croix.
The Male Empowerment conference is in its third year and with the theme "Man-Up: Discovering Your Gifts and Talents," it was designed to bring young men in the community to the realization that they all have gifts and talents that they can use to define their own destinies.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Ben Carson, who has overcome poverty, behavior problems and other hardships in life and is now one of the leading neurosurgeons in the world.
