Market Square detours resume

A road closure around the Market Square construction on St. Thomas that was suspended for the holiday season will resume today.
Kronprindsens Gade (Route 308) will be closed to traffic between Guttets Gade and Strande Gade. Kronprindsens Gade from Strande Gade (Green Corner) to General Gade (75 Corner) will return to one-way traffic westbound.
Additionally, westbound traffic approaching Guttets Gade on Main Street will be detoured around the work zone. Motorists will be able to turn left onto Guttets Gade, which will become a one-way, southbound street. Strande Gade will become a single lane running north between Curaçao and Main Street (Green Corner), with only a left turn possible onto Kronprindsens Gade.
The detour and the one-way, westbound traffic on Kronprindsens Gade will be in effect until the completion of the project, which the contractor anticipates to be at the end of April, according to a statement issued by the V.I. Public Works Department.
