ST. THOMAS - A 17-year-old girl and her brother were robbed at knifepoint Thursday night, and police said one of the assailants stabbed the girl in the leg.

The girl and her brother were leaving a grocery store on Estate Peter Road about 9:15 p.m. Thursday when a white sports utility vehicle pulled up next to them, she told police. Police did not say how old the brother is.

The driver and passenger, both men, got out of the SUV, and the driver was holding a hammer and the passenger had a knife, she told police.

The girl said the two men demanded her and her brother's cell phones, and the man with the knife stabbed her in her left leg. Both the girl and her brother surrendered their phones, and the suspects drove off, police said.

The girl was treated and released from Schneider Hospital the same day.

Police did not say whether the girl or her brother gave a description of the two men, or whether any suspects had been identified.
