New complex for seniors opens

ST. CROIX - Already into her 60s, Louisa Burgos knows she is slowing down in life, but she still has relatively good health and wants to maintain her independence.
That's one reason Burgos became one of six residents now occupying the New Life Senior Resort in Estate Barren Spot, which hosted an open house on Thursday.
The 14-unit facility opened its doors last month and sits in the quiet middle-income neighborhood against gently rolling hills that funnel cool breezes directly into the apartments on most days.
