ST. THOMAS - The V.I. Housing Finance Authority is preparing to contact residents on its low-income housing waiting list to see whether they qualify to move into Amalie Terrace, a 54-unit, six-building complex in Hospital Ground.
V.I. Housing Management Inc., a subsidiary of the Housing Finance Authority, anticipates that some of the units will be ready to be occupied by September.
The low-income housing list currently has 190 residents on it, and to qualify for a unit in Amalie Terrace, applicants must meet federal guidelines set by the U.S. Housing and Urban Development agency for low-income families, according to Yvonne Milliner, executive director of V.I. Housing Management.
