ST. CROIX - In its regularly scheduled monthly meeting Wednesday, the St. Croix Board of Elections said they are hoping to move forward with the procurement of the newly approved voting machines.

Chairman Adelbert Bryan read a letter from Office of Management and Budget Director Debra Gottlieb, which said that her office had received an email from Deputy Elections Supervisor James Weber III in reference to funds appropriated for the purchase of voting machines.

Gottlieb's letter said her office is aware of the appropriation and understands the importance of getting the new voting machines, but at this time the $2.1 million appropriated is not available to be released.
