Orchid Society's annual show starts today at Marriott

ST. THOMAS - For flower fans, the St. Thomas Orchid Society's show this weekend promises three days of "some of the most beautiful orchid plants in the world," according to Orchid Society President Norma Jackson-Burke.
Now in its 31st year, this year's orchid show theme is "Orchid Galaxy," so flower lovers can expect to see plenty of cosmically themed floral arrangements.
The show features 39 original exhibits, with plenty of vendors on hand to offer a number of flowers that enthusiasts can take home.
"If you've never seen this, you need to," said Jackson-Burke.
The orchid show is taking place in the Ocean View Ballroom at Marriott's Frenchman's Reef Beach Resort.
The show hours are 2:30 to 8:30 p.m. today; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased each day, or a three-day bundle will be available at today's show for $10.
