Orchids to fill UVI Great Hall for show

ST. CROIX - Many species of orchids will be on display at the University of the Virgin Islands' Great Hall this weekend as the 42nd annual Orchid Show takes place.
The show, sponsored by the St. Croix Orchid Society, will have the theme "Orchid Wedding" and in honor of long-time orchid growers and society members Doris Gardine and Jeanette Fabio.
Event co-chairwoman Edna Hamilton said the two women have been very active in the society and have helped to make more of the community aware of the beautiful blooms that they have developed over the years, the time it takes to care for their plants and the level of relaxation that growing and tending to orchids can bring.
