ST. CROIX - Police are investigating two robberies, one in Estate Sion Farm, where nothing was taken from the victim, and the second in Mt. Pleasant West, where a girl was robbed of her cell phone.

According to the preliminary police report, officers were called to Sion Farm about 8 p.m. Wednesday, and a man told police he was parking his vehicle near his house when he was approached by a masked man who had a handgun and yelled for him to get out of the car.

The victim told police that another person, who was not where the victim could see him, was tugging on him trying to get him out of the vehicle. After meeting with no success, the two would-be robbers ran away, going south, according to a statement police released.

Police canvassed the area, but didn't come up with anything.

In the other robbery, a girl told police she was walking with a group of friends in Mount Pleasant West just before 10 p.m. on Thursday when a boy came up to her and asked to borrow her cell phone to make a call.

She told police she refused, and the boy took the phone and ran away, heading toward the elementary school.

The girl went home and told her father, who called police.

The boy who took the phone was wearing black pants, a black T-shirt and a gray hat, according to the release.

The cell phone was described as a blue Galaxy S4 inside a pink and blue case.

Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives are following up on both cases.
