Police investigating homicide in Estate Pearl

ST. CROIX - Police are investigating a homicide that was discovered shortly after midday Friday, but they are releasing very limited information about the circumstances surrounding the death.
V.I. Police spokeswoman Melody Rames said Friday night that detectives have identified the victim as John Jacob Bierowski, 26, of Estate Pearl on St. Croix.
The body was discovered in Bierowski's residence during the day on Friday, but investigators are not releasing any information about the cause of death or the manner in which he was found, Rames said.
The case is under investigation, she said.
Anyone with information about the homicide can call police at 911 or call the Crime Stoppers USVI anonymous tip line at 1-800-222-8477.
The homicide is the territory's 44th including six vehicular homicides, reported in the territory this year. Beirowski's death is the 21st homicide on St. Croix, while there have been 22 homicides reported on St. Thomas and one on St. John in 2012.
