ST. THOMAS - The V.I. Port Authority board is in negotiations with a new entity to take over the Island Beachcomber hotel in Lindbergh Bay, although very few details have been provided and the deal is not yet finalized.
In a closed-door meeting Wednesday, the board voted to approve a 25-year lease with a 25-year option to renew to Lindbergh Bay Hotel.
After the meeting, board chairman Robert O'Connor Jr. said the decision had to be made before further negotiations with the company could proceed.
