Senate committee backs Health nominee

ST. CROIX - Health Commissioner nominee Darice Plaskett sailed through her confirmation hearing with the Senate Committee on Rules and Judiciary on Thursday.
The committee voted to forward Plaskett's nomination as Health Commissioner to the full Senate for consideration with a favorable recommendation, with committee chairman Sen. Usie Richards, Sen. Ronald Russell, Sen. Sammuel Sanes, Sen. Patrick Simeon Sprauve, and Sen. Celestino White voting in favor. Sen. Carlton Dowe and Sen. Alicia Hansen were absent for the vote.
