ST. THOMAS - Repairs are under way on a broken sewer line and damaged manhole at the Brassview Wastewater Treatment Plant on St. Thomas.

The problem was caused by stormwater runoff undermining a concrete column, according to the V.I. Waste Management Authority.

Repairs to stop the sewage overflow are expected to be completed by Thursday. Residents with weakened immune systems or respiratory conditions should avoid the area until repairs are finished.
