ST. CROIX - Police are investigating a Saturday night shooting in Estate Glynn that left one man wounded.

The shooting occurred about 10:45 p.m. Saturday at the Hidden Island bar and restaurant, where a 21-year-old man was shot in his upper shoulder, according to a statement the V.I. Police Department issued Monday.

Witnesses who were in the establishment told police they heard several shots and saw the man bleeding.

A resident took the victim to the hospital in their private vehicle, and the victim was treated for a single gunshot wound to his left upper back, police said. The victim told police that he did not see who shot him and he does not know why anyone would want to shoot at him.

The case is being investigated by detectives from the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
