ST. CROIX - The St. Croix District Board of Elections is seeking to lock out V.I. Elections Supervisor John Abramson Jr., saying that he should no longer have access to the Election System's vehicle, office, documents or staff.

During its monthly meeting Wednesday, board members approved a motion to restrict Abramson's access to everything associated with the Election Systems in the St. Croix District.

Board chairman Adelbert Bryan said the issue arose out of a letter sent to the board from a local doctor, who stated that Abramson is under his care and is unable to be at work. The doctor's letter states that from Jan. 28, when the letter was dated, until May 31, the date Abramson previously has said he will retire, Abramson will be out of the office and unavailable.
