ST. CROIX - Local businesses have closed their doors in recent months as a result of the high cost of energy in the territory, but the St. Croix Chamber of Commerce president said he believes that the V.I. Water and Power Authority is doing the best it can with the resources it has and that the diversification plan WAPA is using is sound.

At the Chamber's "Business for Breakfast" meeting Thursday at the Palms at Pelican Cove, WAPA Executive Director Hugo Hodge Jr. spoke about the logistics affecting consumer power costs and some of the issues that WAPA has been facing.
