St. Croix couple claims someone shot at their car while driving

ST. CROIX - Police are investigating an incident reported Monday night, in which a couple said someone opened fire on their car as they were driving.
V.I. Police spokeswoman Melody Rames said the two people reported that they were driving on Melvin Evans Highway when someone shot at them on the road.
Rames said the driver of the car told police that he was on the highway heading east close to the Sunny Isles intersection when he heard at least three shots and heard his back windshield shatter.
He said he increased his speed and got out of the area.
Rames said no one was injured in the incident that has been classified as a reckless endangerment and the case is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Bureau detectives.
