ST. CROIX - Police are investigating the rape of a 14-year-old girl that was reported late Thursday night.

According to the police blotter - a list of calls to emergency dispatchers and the time they were made - the incident was reported at 8:49 p.m. Thursday from Estate Whim and was classified as a first-degree aggravated rape.

V.I. Police spokeswoman Melody Rames said Friday that the parents of the girl told police their daughter was taken against her will and sexually assaulted on a beach in Estate Whim.

According to the preliminary report, the girl said she was walking along Queen Mary Highway near Estate Cane when a man in a blue sedan drove up beside her and forced her into his vehicle.

The girl told her parents that the man took her to a beach in Whim, sexually assaulted her and then brought her back to the same area where he abducted her.

Rames said the case is being followed up by detectives in the Police Department's Special Victims Unit.
