ST. CROIX - Police are appealing to the public to help them find a man they suspect was involved in a recent armed robbery of a jewelry store.
V.I. Police spokeswoman Melody Rames issued a wanted poster on Friday for 21-year-old Larry Williams Jr., who they say is the third man police have linked to the Sept. 12 mid-morning robbery of Mini World Jewelry and Gift Store.
Police said the robbers made off with hundreds of thousands of dollars in merchandise and left the store's security guard seriously injured after hitting him with a blunt object.
On Oct. 4, police arrested Kimo Inniss and Sheldon Shallow and charged them with first-degree robbery; third-degree assault; unauthorized possession of a firearm; carrying a dangerous weapon during the commission of a crime of violence; failure to report a firearm brought into the territory; and possession of ammunition.
Both men were advised that they each could face up to 80 years in prison.
At that time, police also named Williams as a suspect and said he is believed to have left the territory and his warrant has been placed on the National Criminal Information Center system.
Police said Friday that Williams is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs 195 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and is known to frequent the William's Delight housing community.
Anyone who sees Williams or has information about where he might be can call 911 or the confidential tip line at Crime Stoppers USVI at 1-800-222-8477.
