ST. THOMAS - A St. Thomas man drowned in the Bubbly Pool on Jost Van Dyke on Saturday after trying to rescue another man from the swirling waters, and a third man was injured so badly he had to be taken to the hospital, according to Royal Virgin Islands Police Force spokeswoman Diane Drayton.

The drowning happened one year to the day after an American tourist drowned in the same location.

The Bubbly Pool is a small cove located on the northeast of Jost Van Dyke thought to be a natural Jacuzzi because of the way a tall line of rocks break waves and send whirling, foamy water into the circular pool. It is a popular tourist site.
