St. Thomas, St. John lose power for an hour when WAPA generator fails

ST. THOMAS - St. Thomas, St. John and Water Island were without power for close to an hour Thursday morning after the largest electric generator in the V.I. Water and Power Authority's system failed.
The Harley Power Plant's Unit 23, commonly referred to as the "workhorse" unit, tripped offline about 10:14 a.m. Thursday, according to a press release issued by WAPA spokeswoman Cassandra Dunn.
