ST. CROIX - Former elementary school teacher Tydel John spent a second-consecutive day on the witness stand Wednesday in V.I. Superior Court, where he is on trial for multiple counts of child sexual abuse.

John, 60, is charged with child molestation, unlawful sexual contact and child abuse in connection with three different arrests since 2007. The cases have been consolidated.

John began his testimony Tuesday morning, and upon direct examination by his attorney, Martial Webster, he testified that he is a classroom teacher with 41 years of experience and has been on administrative leave without pay for the last five years.
