University Bound Parents Association honors 8 students as youth role models

ST. THOMAS - The University Bound Parents Association hosted the Youth Role Model Awards luncheon on Sunday at Sugar Bay Resort and Spa to honor eight high school students for their commitment to education and for distinguishing themselves as individuals worthy of respect and admiration of their peers.

Each high school on St. Thomas and the University Bound Program select the students, who receive scholarship money to go toward their college educations. University Bound is a college preparatory program designed to generate the skills and motivation for academic success in high school and beyond.

This year's honorees are:

- Tsedek Roberts, All Saints Cathedral School.

- Glenisha Shillingford, Antilles School.

- Ajayi Anthony, Charlotte Amalie High School.

- Desla Charlery, Ivanna Eudora Kean High School.

- Jovanna Laurencin, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic School.

- Kalina Webster, Seventh-day Advenstist School.

- Ashley Thomas, University Bound Program.

- Portia Norkaitis, V.I. Montessori School and Peter Gruber International Academy.
