ST. CROIX - Women and girls across the territory will be pulling out their red shoes Friday in support of a national campaign to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

VICARE Executive Director Sandra Phaire said this is the forth year the organization is participating in the event. In addition to wearing red shoes, Virgin Islands Community AIDS Resources and Education is asking people to donate one dollar to the organization.

Everyone who wears red shoes in support of the cause also is being asked to take a picture and upload it to the VICARE page on Facebook, she said.
