ST. THOMAS - The V.I. Labor Department is asking employers to disregard the latest set of unemployment tax bills sent in the last two weeks.
In a brief statement released late Tuesday afternoon, Labor Commissioner Albert Bryan Jr. said the department is in the process of upgrading its system. He said the "lack of a software upgrade" caused an error in the Unemployment Insurance Tax Statement of Account bills.
