V.I. schedules two events as part of International Women's Day

ST. THOMAS ­- In celebration of International Women's Day today, two events will bring women together for networking, brainstorming and to recognize women from the Virgin Islands who have become leaders in their fields.

Senators Nereida Rivera-O'Reilly and Janette Millin Young will co-host a meet-and-greet and roundtable discussions today from 5:45 to 8 p.m. at the Windward Passage Hotel Conference Room on St. Thomas. Women of all ages are invited to the free event.

Discussions will include women in business and entrepreneurship, the cost of health care and the impact of HIV/AIDS, politics and funding, domestic violence and moving beyond stereotypes in the media.
