ST. THOMAS - Family Court judicial nominee Debra Watlington dodged several politically charged questions Monday en route to being unanimously recommended by the Senate Rules and Judiciary Committee to the full body.
Sen. Celestino White Sr. peppered Watlington, who currently is the Chief Territorial Public Defender, with questions laced with potential pitfalls. He first asked Watlington whether she ever has had to take a legal position that was contrary to a personal or moral belief.
