Judith Ann Newcomb

Judith Ann Newcomb, 71, of St. Thomas and formerly of Tinton Falls, N.J., passed away June 23, 2012, in the home of her son, James, in Neptune, N.J., surrounded by her devoted family. Judy was born in Washington, D.C., on Feb. 27, 1941, to James and Helen Bartlett and was raised in Kansas City, Mo., where she met and married Paul Newcomb in 1960. They moved to Neptune in 1962 and then to Tinton Falls in 1966, where they raised their six children.

Judy loved gardening and enjoyed Manasquan beach and the theater. She appeared in numerous dinner theater productions at the Dam Site in Tinton Falls.

In 1995, Judy and Paul followed their dream and moved to the island of St. Thomas, where she continued her theater passion at the Pistarckle Theater as well as snorkeling the reefs of St. Thomas and St. John. They would return in the summers to spend time with the family as well as travel widely in their RV in the mainland U.S., Canada and Alaska.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul Newcomb; their six children and her sister, Cindy. She was the loving mother of Paul Douglas Newcomb, Wyndora Buckner, Marcia Newcomb, James Newcomb, Garrett Newcomb and Heather McDonald. Judy was the cherished grandmother of Kevin Newcomb, Zachary Buckner, Jordan Buckner and Ben Newcomb-Simard. A memorial service took place in New Jersey on July 1. A service will be held on St. Thomas in February 2013.
