Rupert Carlton Browne

Rupert Carlton Browne of St. John died Jan. 5, 2012, at the pleasant age of 81. He was born on June 22, 1930, in Ginger land, on the beautiful island of Nevis in the small town of River Path.

He passed away in Georgia, in the small town of Fairburn, where he was staying with his son Anthony Browne.

Rupert leaves behind Avis M. Browne, his wife of 45 years who resides on St. John. He was the eldest of 10 children. He leaves behind three sisters, Eunice, Bernice and Violet; one brother, Ulric; seven children, Irma, Lucinda, Curtis, Michael, Ronald, Anthony, Roosevelt; 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Rupert was employed at Caneel Bay Resort and the Virgin Islands Taxi Association. Thank you, Rupert, for a life well-lived.

His Celebration of Life Memorial will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 28 at the St. John Methodist Church .
