Last week, my former colleagues on the House of Representatives Committee on Natural Resources voted by unanimous voice vote to send the 2011 version of my Chief Financial Officer bill to the full House of Representatives for consideration. I continue to believe that having an independent professional third party responsible for determining the amount of revenues the local government has available to spend for the ensuing fiscal year would be a positive development for our government. It also is generally supported by a significant proportion and broad cross-section of our electorate.
